Blandon 'the hulk' Tan in one of his high psychotic moments
Blandon Tan, one of the bright stars of SMU Rugby has pledged an all out revamp of the club culture and a return to winning ways. During the election campaigning, he promised to garner regular attendance for trainings and to focus the training on the upcoming 15s tournament. Taking heart from the strong showing during the training for 7s and the SUniG 7s tournament, he has pledged his soul to SMU Rugby. However he did emphasise a caveat, "In order to step up and get back to winning ways, we need to have the committment of every player and i mean to lead by example. Everyone must share the same goals and the same vision." We are pleased at having Blandon as the new President and look forward to future silverware.
Ronald 'the beast' Cher
Ronald has been with SMU Rugby for close to a year and has been central to the resurgence of the team. Powerful in his runs and unforgiving in his tackles, Ronald has for some time been part of the leadership group in SMU Rugby. His passion for the team and his refusal to let anything stand in his way has made him a crowd favourite. During his NS days, he still came for trainings and has worked hard and shed blood for the team. We have no doubt that he will be central to the future of SMU Rugby.
SMU Rugby wishes the new Executive Committee well and hopes that they can surpass the efforts and results of the previous exco in bringing the glory days back.
Finally, SMU Rugby also pays tribute to the outgoing exco for their unwavering dedication to the team and the hard work they have put in for the year of 2011. Special thanks to Stuart Ho for leading the team and always being there for the team in every capacity. Special thanks is also reserved for Aldric Chew for being the best Finance Director that SMU Rugby has known and for always going down for trainings.
