Summer Signings

Another National Player joins SMU

The City Boys have splashed out the cash and finally secured the services of National 7s winger, Bryan Ng. The latter who was from SIM is set to impress the coach, and has also promise to slay more girls than Ben Teong! When he spoke to SMUrugby news, the superstar commented, "There's going to be a new slayer in town...and that's me!"

The new addition of Bryan Ng, will bring the City Boys' total number of National 7s players (past & present) to 7. He will also be reunited with his fellow SEA games team-mates, Desmond Wee, Daniel Marc and Derek Chan. With such talent in the City Boys' camp, many will be expecting them to bring in another silverware in the coming SUNIG 7s.

In fact! President Sherman has even stated confidently, "If we lose this coming SUNIG 7s, it will be an absolute disgrace...and I will personally step down!" (once again the MAN has spoken)

Moving on to other transfer news....

Joels that could not wait to Snub!

SMU has witnessed the birth of their very own 'snubber'. Flanker Joel Leong, who won the Tri-Unis together with SMU, had surprised every one when he made his announcement to leave the City Boys for the Boon Lay Warriors. The news was not very well-received by the management, but they commented that, "we do not hold any one back at SMU...we wish Joel all the best in his future and to enjoy that nice journey down to Boon Lay."

The interesting news from this snubbing affair is that another Joel has in return snubbed NTU to join SMU. In a part exchange, Joel Ong, the former ACS(I) B Division Player of the Season has finally put pen to paper and signed a 4 year deal with the City Boys. He told SMUrugby news, "I am ecstatic! To join SMU is like a dream come true. ....Or let me rephrase myself. To leave NTU is like a dream come true too!"

Uncle Wei Nurn extends his contract!

The headline says it all. Uncle Wei Nurn has extended his contract with SMU for another year! The hooker who once expressed his loyalty to the City Boys, was told to reconsider his retirement and extend his contract. The veteran hooker eventually agreed and is set to be awarded a Masters at the end of his contract.
